Imagine you were back in High School. You never opened a dry History or Science textbook. Instead, you were given story based biographies that allowed you to enter the world of historical figures like Adam, Alexander the Great, Aristotle, King Henry II, Bonhoeffer, and many more. You were able to read firsthand accounts of scientific studies through a Christian Worldview. You learned the beauties of the English language by reading Shakespeare and how Greco/Roman myths point to Jesus. And one day a week, you were able to sit on comfy seats with your friends, a refreshing drink, and discuss everything you read and thought.

What if we used High School for more than academics? As our kids grow into adulthood, it's time to slowly hand over the reigns of education. Our hybrid experience at Huckleberry is tailored to make the transition easy. As a parent, you will choose your teenager's math and grammar curriculum and they will complete it at home. We will supply the curriculum for Bible, Church History, World History, Science, Literature, Mythology, and Art, along with the schedule. All reading will be your teen's responsibility at home. Once a week, we will get together at Huckleberry and discuss everything that has been read and learned.
The questions is not, -how much does the youth know? when he has finished his education, but how much does he care? And about how many orders of things does he care? In fact, how large is the room in which he finds his feet set? And therefore, how full is the life he has before him?

Your teenager's brain is growing as fast as their body and it needs a wholesome, steady diet of ideas. We are here to supply it for you, while we work together in helping your child mature in responsibility and self-motivation.  Along with their own academics, each high school student will spend time each week helping our younger students with reading and math, growing the skills of mentoring and caring for others. As time allows, we will also work on farm projects together, from stacking haybales, to caring for animals.

Our curriculum and methods are rooted in Charlotte Mason's timeless education principals. We are so excited to offer this unique high school experience to our community. You will find the application for high school right below. Feel free to reach out with any questions. We are happy to meet in person, as well!
